1 WEEK, 8 DAYS A WEEK

This is my first week comic since I moved back to my home town of Nevada City. I saw a lot of music during this comic, I got my ass kicked drawing this many guitars and drums.

Sperble Elite Painting

An almost entirely finished painting of the Sperble Elite. Each character's posture and pose was base on a real photo of the real life inspiration. I like how distinctive all the posture's are. In the far right you'll see Shredder, Mantis's pet parrot.

This was painted on wood. For the wall texture I basically let the wood just show through. Will probably  post the finalized version later.

SOME RECENT WORK

A few more recent sketches. Several martial arts masters from a book and a baby hippo. It's been a little dead around here, will attempt to post more.

DUO MONCUO CRASHING AROUND

This one is a painting of Billy and I riding a Snow Mobile. This was the only day I've ever ridden one, but I'd still call it my favorite vehicle. Such a blast.

EVERYONE

My largest painting (45" by 50") to date. I pretty much spent a summer adding more and more characters to this one.

AUDREY AT ONE EYED JACKS

Audrey Horne, another in my David Lynch series. Almost have a whole David Lynch art show ready!

TWO PAINTINGS

The first painting is a self portrait of me going through someone's purse. The second is a picture of my buddy Eric during a very long, very insane, very acrobatic night...

SCATTERBRAIN

The fact that I so poorly spaced and planned the lettering of this picture actually really fits. I am very scatterbrained.

SPERBLE ELITE ISSUE 3 PREVIEW

A hastily put together preview image for issue #3 of the Sperble Elite, my ongoing self publishing project. With this issue I have enough material to put together a graphic novel, which I will shop around to publishers in an attempt to leave the self publishing world.
Anyways, here are some random panels from the issue. I tried to pick ones that wouldn't give away much, though this issue gets so all over the place it would be hard to reveal the plot with any seven panels.

COFFEE TABLE- WITH UPDATE

My ever evolving coffee table. I posted a picture of it on here years ago. Or, a section of it. Here's how it's advanced in the last while.
Here's the previous table post. There will probably be more of these.

Update-here's some more old close ups of the table. Thought I'd already posted these. Guess not.

Finally got a decent digital camera. Now I'll be able to post my art that doesn't fit in a scanner. Probably be a lot more posting.

MORE RECENT SKETCHBOOK STUFF

Some more bad photos from recent sketchbook stuff.

Mifune was inspired because someone said I look like him. I don't think I do, but I do look a bit like him When I'm the one who draws him.

trying to draw superheroes. It's not my nature, they come out silly.

RECENT WORK

If you check this blog regularly, you've probably noticed a decrease in posts. This has nothing to do with actual artistic output. I've been making more then ever lately. It's more an issue of ways to get these images online. Two scanners have given out on me recently, including my giant flatbed scanner which was the only way I could scan original comic book pages. Also, my Ipod touch disappeared, leaving me without a digital camera.
I have wanted to try to keep up on the blog though, so today I borrowed my girlfriend's Ipod to take some photos of recent work. Some of these will be re-posted as more complete images or in better quality.

These first few a from a scrapbook I did of my most recent house. Normally when I move I throw the loose papers and drawings together into a book. A few are things I didn't draw, but whatever.

This last one is a painting a did in 24 hours as a little challenge to myself.

ART WALK

Showed my art at The Nevada City Art Walk. This photo was posted of one of my paintings. I cut off the rest of the photo because it was other people's art I did not create.

SPERBLE ELITE VILLAIN COLORS

Here are some color designs of the Sperble Elite villians. Nick of Time (the guy with the clock head) gave me a lot of trouble, not going to go with either color scheme.
