NESTER CHRISTMAS- SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR THE GLASS CANNON PODCAST

So the Glass Cannon Podcast did another call to artists. The theme of this one was Christmas, which I personally have no interest in artistically
. Well,I couldn't sleep this morning and thought of a way around that. This is Nestor Coyne, a character who has been long in the background and I'm excited to see return.

THIS BOWIE IS OFF

This picture of David Bowie was supposed to be the first in a series of memorial pictures. Instead it took way too long to make and I don't really like the way it came out. Gonna work on a simplified picture I can do quicker and with greater ease. Acrylics aren't best for everything.

MORE CHARACTER DESIGNS BASED ON COLOMBO AND ERASERHEAD

Two more character designs for character ideas I've had. The first is a Halfling investigator based on Colombo. He came out looking like my dad. The second is a Half-Elf summoner based on Eraserhead. I like both a lot, but probably won't have the chance to play them for years. I consider making a fantasy comic pretty often, but don't have a plot or any structure in mind. An idea of an idea I suppose.

BUG PERSON FENGUS

A pretty strange picture. Might be the cover of a collection of my comic shorts.

THE BIG THIRST

These are my pages from the giant Thirst Patrick and I are making. Sweet-pea is one of my favorite things I've ever drawn, and the article page based on prompts by Pat turned out really good. This will probably be the subject of the next MAKING OF THIRST short movie we make. Just have to edit the last one...

JIMMER HARDY

Jimmer Hardy, another entry for a Glass Cannon art contest. I did this one quick, but I'm really happy with the result. It's got a fun old fashioned vibe.

FIGURE DRAWING- WOMAN IN CHAIR

I was taking figure drawing for a while. My work schedule moved around, so I can't make it anymore unfortunately. This model wore costumes, which was kind of interesting. One of my better speed drawings from the class.

SOME RECENT SPERBLE ART

A panel from the upcoming issue and a quick painting of the Thunder Sloth

HEROES OF SANDPOINT

A drawing of our Pathfinder Adventure path. This cast of characters are currently playing through Rise of the Runelords. Fantasy art is very much not my thing, so it feels good to try to work out how to do it.

By the way, my character is second from the left. Meet Usel, Healing witch and all around cheerful genius bum.

THOUGHTS AND CONSIDERATIONS #1

I don't really remember why I made this. It's actually been done for over a month and I kind of forgot it. I will probably do more Thoughts and Considerations.

BURNING FENGUS WEEK COMIC

My latest week comic. This one includes a Burning Fengus, our annual camping trip to the Black Rock Desert. It also ended on a sad note, with the memorial of my friend Eric ending up right after the trip. I was glad to put this one in his memory.

RECENT WORKS- REALLY ALL OVER THE PLACE STUFF

I've been really productive with art, but slacking on posting anything lately. Most of these are works in progress, but I'll show where they are at the moment. I don't have an oversized scanner at the moment, so my image quality is down a bit.

The first image is my new Pathfinder character, Bandin the Bloodrager. The second is some fan art for the Glass Cannon Podcast. Next we've got a random picture of Gary Busey, and lastly a quick sketch of Usel, another Pathfinder character. So much nerd art!

SHADOWS ON THE EDGE

A painting I made a while ago, but sort of forgot about. It's acrylic on cardboard.  I cropped it so you can't tell, but I did a pretty bad job cutting this out of the box top it was painted on.

WELLS AND THE CHARIOT

These are two knew pictures. The first is an alteration of a beer label at a bar I saw a while back. My version looks pretty different. The second is a quick sketch of Orson Wells. I've been working on a new sketching style that's really sped up my ability, and I think looks really good. My brother saw this one and suggested I do a period piece comic in this style. I think there's something to the idea. I'm searching around for what kind of period piece I'd want to tell

FACE IN FACE, HOMAGE

Two recent pictures. The first is my latest painting, which has gotten a notable response for how vaginal it is. This was not intentional, but not exactly accidental either. Actually, it was originally the front view of a fish, but that image from that angle proved to be too difficult, so I turned the outline into something else.

The second picture is an image I made for my girlfriend of us and our dog. I tried to do it in the style of Bill Waterson, which proved to be a little trickery then expected.

HOODSLAM!!!

So I sent my buddy Marty my comics. He posted a picture of my first experience at Hoodslam and tagged the Stoner Brothers, two of the iconic wrestlers from the event. They got back to me and asked me for the comics. I sent them some of my work, plus a sketch. I also basically begged for a job doing comics for them. I really hope I get to do work for them!

COSMIC SHARK/SPERBLE ELITE SHIRT RELEASE ART SHOW!

I have an art show coming up. It's my first solo art show in a few years. I've done quite a few group shows, but it's been a long time since I've gotten to display all my work. My friend's shirt company, Cosmic Shark Clothing, are premiering a shirt of my art, which is a life long dream come true! So I'm very excited about the whole thing.

I feel like I need to talk about the flier. Annie from Cosmic Shark colored it, so credit to her there. I sent it to her and we both shared it before my girlfriend noticed some typos. I even misspelled my own last name! I corrected these typos, but one got through on the printed fliers. I was really frustrated with this. If I had just slowed down a little I'd be totally happy with the work, but it was a rush job and I wasn't paying attention. These things happen when you put your work out there. One of those shitty feelings you've got to live with when your a public artist.
